“I have worked at other media sales organisations. However, Cognitive is the only organisation to have given me the support I needed to assist my development enabling me to progress my career, and earn good money.” N.B.
“Cognitive is a well structured company with a range of quality products allowing good sales people the opportunity of great earning potential if you are prepared to work hard and apply yourself.” M.J.
“I have worked for Cognitive for over 3 years. The company has a well educated and well motivated mindset to enable you to earn an excellent income and develop as an individual. The companies philosophy quite simply, works.” P.B.
“Due to the quality of their products and their standing within their respective market sectors, working as a media sales professional at Cognitive means I can be safe in the knowledge that once a prospect views the product, the proposition we’ve discussed beforehand will quite naturally come to fruition. Couple this with a ‘We’re in this together’ mentality, and Cognitive Publishing ticks all the boxes for those wanting to work in a great sales environment and enjoy a successful, financially rewarding sales career.” L.T.
“Cognitive is the first company I have worked for that offers me everything I need to be the best that I can be. This includes the work place environment, the companies strong financial stability, on-going support and training but most importantly the power to attain a high level of financial security as long as I put in the necessary hard work.
Undoubtedly the best product I’ve ever worked with, Public Sector Executive is the leading news brand in its sector and the quality carries through to the new state of the art digital offerings, such as the website/video and email marketing solutions enabling me to offer my clients the whole media solution.” A.B.
“Best publishing company I have ever worked at. Pay, Commission Structure and Working Conditions second to none. The most professional approach to publishing of Business to Business titles, Staff and Management. Helpful and approachable at all times.” S.D.
“Graduating from Manchester University in 2004, I was fortunate enough to encounter an advertisement for a Media Sales Executive position with Cognitive at the University careers centre. Applying for that position was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I joined Cognitive as an ambitious 21 year old, eager to earn and full of drive, but with very little in the way of sales skills. It has been said that in business as in life, you get what you negotiate. The skills I learned over my almost 5 five years with Cognitive helped me to win both professionally and personally. I would not be the person I am now were it not for the time I spent at Cognitive. I left Cognitive as an assertive, well oiled sales machine, with a wide range of transferable skills and comfortable dealing from the ‘shop floor’ to the boardroom.
The leadership team at Cognitive inspired me and my colleagues to success, always instilling confidence and belief with handsome rewards in return. I quickly rose to the top of my friendship group in terms of earnings, whilst enjoying every step along the way. I was given my first promotion to a management role in my mid 20’s, and was given all the guidance and advice I could have wished for during what is initially a daunting change in one’s career.
I look back on my time at Cognitive with great fondness, and encourage anyone considering a career here to go for it. If you are lucky enough to be offered a position, the sky is the limit. Or should I say uncapped! ” N.B.
“Cognitive, Magazines that Mean Business.”
“You may want to read that again.
Because, if you ever visit the company premises, you’ll see immediately that business is conducted in modern surroundings that are streamlined to the point of elegance: elegance in the sense that there is no waste – no frills or distractions – no inefficiencies. It’s a business in the purest sense: fiercely independent, progressive, and always looking for “the edge”.
It’s also a place of learning. If you’re a seasoned, professional Salesperson looking for challenges in a stable environment; or if you’re comparatively new to the media business and you’re eager to learn about the art and craft of Sales, it’s the place to be. As a former employee, I’d recommend Cognitive Publishing unreservedly to those who are committed to hard work, self-development and, of course, realising their earning potential.” E.B.
“A well balanced forward thinking company. A sales role designed to enable you to earn great money if you are willing to listen, learn and deliver selling a super product. A fair and honest company to work for with like-minded individuals.” A.R.
“I have known the Managing Director of Cognitive, since 1986, when we worked together at a previous sales organisation. He contacted me in 2001 and offered me a sales role within Public Sector Executive. I accepted the position and was heavily involved in advertising sales until 2006. I am still in contact with the management at Cognitive. When I was approached to provide a testimonial for candidates considering applying for a position at Cognitive, I immediately agreed to do so.
Cognitive is a forward thinking, and very friendly environment for any body willing to work hard. Earnings are top tier for this market place, and there were never any quibbles when it came to being handed large commission payments.
I can’t recommend highly enough that if you are fortunate enough to be offered a position at Cognitive on any level, then do accept it.” T.C.
“My time at Cognitive provided me with the grounding required to pursue an exciting and fulfilling career in journalism. The company provided me with great support, encouraged my ambition and allowed me to flourish. Most of all they taught me the value of hard work: I cannot thank them enough for that.
The team were always diligent and supportive, and the management fostered a culture where going the extra mile was always rewarded. Cognitive is a place where success is, with the right mindset, always achievable.” R.Mc.
“I have worked at Cognitive for nearly 12 months now, and I love coming to work every day. As a designer the work is fast paced and deadlines have to be met, so I feel a extremely important member of the team within the production department.
As a graphic designer part of my role Is to work closely with the editorial department but I also get the chance to liaise with everyone at Cognitive, from the the production and administration departments to the sales floor, everyone has their own role to play in order for Cognitive to be 100% efficient and 100% effective. Everyone at the company values each others contribution and we also enjoy each others company outside of work, we will often meet for a drink afterwards. Staff functions, i.e Christmas party aren’t your typical “cheesy office do”, the MD really places emphasis on treating staff to something special, such as Japanese, Italian, Brazilian and of course English in good quality establishments. We always get the opportunity to have input and choose something just that little bit different!
Overall there is a great working atmosphere at Cognitive. The management monitor the progress of individual performance as well as the group productivity so all the hard work does not go unnoticed! Everything is noted, and we are often praised on the work we produce, which keeps us all motivated and in good spirits.
There is a lot of work that goes into each and every magazine and I feel very proud to be the designer of all 3 publications, RTM, PSE and NHE.” R.G.
“Working at Cognitive, you’re supported and given freedom to get results. The business is built on sound finances, not borrowing, so you know you’ve got a secure job as long as you deliver.
It’s a friendly workplace in a great location in Manchester city centre – and even has a great view, over one of the centre’s nicest parks.
The management incentivise good work, and there are plenty of great rewards, afternoons and nights out and opportunities to sample some of Manchester’s best restaurants while enjoying time with colleagues.” A.H.
“Working at Cognitive includes a supportive environment with clear goals and a vision for the future. It is exciting to hear about the long-term plans for the company, including expansion into the charity sector, events and social media.
Employees benefit from a range of incentives and group social activities which offer opportunities to bond and work together more effectively.
The company aims to produce magazines and websites of the highest quality, and this has been recognised by contributors, advertisers and members of the editorial board. This provides welcome feedback for the work we do, and useful suggestions for further editions.” K.A.
“When I joined Cognitive, (having been unemployed for sometime, due to circumstances beyond my control) I was lacking in confidence. The management at Cognitive saw something in me that I hadn’t been aware of for quite sometime. They helped me to recognise this and helped me to develop other qualities I didn’t realise I possessed. Having experienced an abundance of help from management and colleagues, on both personal and professional levels, my confidence has soared and I feel I can achieve almost anything.” D.L.
“Cognitive has enabled me to develop and learn new skills both personally and professionally. During my time here I have learned to present myself in a professional manner with the help of extensive training and one to one guidance from the supportive management team. They have gone above and beyond to support me through my development as a person in the workplace, this has had a knock on affect on my personal life also, making me a much happier employee. I’m really happy to work for Cognitive!” H.C.
“My time with Cognitive has been both instructive and enjoyable. Everyday is as challenging as it is rewarding. I’ve gained new skills, learnt about myself and my abilities, and become a valued part of a team. Thank you for the opportunity you’ve given me.” A.W
